Huan Lian is a PHD candidate in Education, a program in partnership between the Universidade Nova de Lisboa’ schools FCT Nova (college of Science and Technology) and Nova School of Social and Human Sciences with ISPA (University Institute of Applied Psychology). She earned her master’s degree in Teaching Portuguese as a Second and Foreign Language from the Universidade Nova de Lisboa and, her bachelor’s degree in Portuguese Studies from the University of Macau. Her Phd, under the supervision of Dr. Professor Carlos Ceia, focus on the intercultural education in the teaching Portuguese as foreign language to Chinese students within the framework of recent educational reform in China.
She had lectured Chinese to Portuguese students and, Translation and Interpretation (Portuguese to Chinese) to Chinese exchange students and Portuguese students, for around two semesters, as invited assistant in the Department of languages and literatures of the Politécnico de Leiria. She is also a freelance bilingual translator (Portuguese – Chinese, Chinese to Portuguese).
