Helena Mota Lopes

Helena Mota Lopes is an EFL teacher in the 3rd Cycle of Basic Education and in Secondary Education. She has a background in teaching EFL to 11 to 12-year-old children and teenagers in state schools. She is also a teacher trainer. She holds an MA in English Studies and a PhD in the field of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, area of specialization in Foreign Language Didactics.
She is a member of CETAPS (Centre for English, Translation and Anglo-Portuguese Studies), joining the TEALS (Teacher Education and Applied Language Studies) research group. Her areas of interest include citizenship education, the use of picturebooks/ literary texts with young teenagers, and foreign language education.
