Daniel Floquet

Daniel Damasceno Floquet is a PhD student in Literature at Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP). He currently holds a PhD scholarship, awarded by the FCT (SFRH/BD/129705/2017), supporting his dissertational project on the representations of violence in the novels of the Portuguese writer Maria Velho da Costa and the Irish writer Edna O ́Brien, which is supervised by Prof. Dr. Rui Carvalho Homem and co-supervised by Prof. Dr. Ana Luísa Amaral.

He has also interest in gender studies, Portuguese and Brazilian Studies, Irish studies, and Comparative Literature in general. Prior to joining the PhD program at FLUP, he received a MA Degree from the same Faculty, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature and Linguistics from Federal University of Ceará.

Originally from Brazil, he has 10 years of experience as a Portuguese teacher, teaching Literature and Grammar to students from different ages.
