Rima Jay Prakash

Rima has taught English as a Foreign Language in Portugal for over 20 years. She currently works as an Invited Assistant Professor at FCSH, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal, where she teaches English for Professional Purposes to undergraduates on the Translation course, and Educational Psychology and Inclusion & Diversity in the Classroom to postgraduate students on various MA courses in Teaching. Additionally, she supervises several MA theses.
She is a Researcher at CETAPS, and has also been part of the editorial board for e-TEALS (Teacher Education and Applied Language Studies) and is now part of th ‘Teacher education and curriculum studies in second language education’ strand.
The dissertation for her PhD in Education was titled ‘Bridging Ideas of Best Practice in Gifted Education and Language Learning in English as a Foreign Language in Portugal’. She also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Education and a BSc in Psychology. She is interested in the areas of English as a Foreign Language, giftedness, inclusive practices, growth mindsets and positive psychology.
