Dora Gago

Dora Maria Nunes Gago is an Associate Professor of Literature at the Department of Portuguese at the University of Macau and she has been  Head of Department since 1 July 2020 until 31 December 2021. During the academic year 2018/19 she acted as deputy head of the Department of Portuguese, and she has been MA and PhD programmes coordinator.
She holds a  PhD in Romances Comparative Literatures (FCSH, Nova University of Lisbon, 2007). She joined the University of Macau in 2012 as an Assistant Professor. Before, she was a post-doctoral researcher (with a grant from the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology) at the University of Aveiro; Lecturer of the Camoes Institute at the University of the Oriental Republic of Urugay (Montevideo, Uruguay), and visiting post-doc at the University of Massachussetts  (Amherst, USA).

She participates often in international conferences has published books and also a considerable number of articles, book chapters, poems and short stories in international indexed journals,  anthologies and books.
