Alice Carletto is a PhD candidate in Modern Literatures and Cultures at NOVA University of Lisbon. She holds a BA degree in Modern Languages and Literatures (English and Portuguese) at Università degli Studi di Torino (Italy), with a dissertation on Fernando Pessoa’s heteronyms (“Ricercando Pessoa: Il Progetto Eteronimico”). She also holds a MA degree in English and North-American Studies at NOVA University of Lisbon. She concluded her MA studies in December 2018 with a dissertation on the topic of American pastoralism (“Perspectives on Contemporary American Pastoralism: Philip Roth, Leslie Marmon Silko and Annie Proulx”).
She is a collaborator of CETAPS since 2017, she is a member of the Junior Researcher for Anglo-American Studies (JRAAS), she is a member of the American Intersection Strand and a member of the Portuguese Association for Anglo-American Studies (APEAA).
Alice Carletto has a strong interest in foreign languages and cultures: she is Italian and Spanish native speaker, and she has good knowledge of English, Portuguese, and French. Her main field of research is American Studies; in her PhD research, she is currently investigating the American road narrative genre through an ecocritical and geocritical approach.
She is also very interested in Luso American Literature, in Travel Writing on the Iberian Peninsula, and in Italian Studies.
