Ariadne Gomes Guimarães graduated in 2008 at University of Brasília (UNB), in English Language and Literature, with focus on Literature. She is currently a MA student in Anglo-American Studies at University of Porto. She has six years of experience as an English teacher and another seven years in non-related affairs.
Bruna Olivieri graduated in 2017 from the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), Brazil, majoring in Portuguese and English. She has attended Yeats Summer School in Sligo, in 2015. She took part in a study group on the British novel in the 19th and 20th century, from 2014 to 2016. She completed a course on traditional animation in 2016. Currently, she’s a graduate student in Anglo-American Studies at University of Porto. Her main interests are Irish folklore, comic books and animation.
Letícia Onofre graduated in Faculty of Human and Social Sciences (UFG) in 2008. She taught English and Portuguese during and after her studies. She has been working as an English Teacher since 2007. She worked as an Assistant Professor in the Arts Faculty at Uniseb Estácio. She managed projects with students at Galois School to promote English Language and Foreign Culture (art, music, films, international food and storytelling) in collaboration with embassies in Brazil. Her research interests are English Language and Culture around the world, Food Studies (FoodWays), films and religion. She decided to pursue a Masters in Anglo-American Studies to improve her knowledge and help beginner teachers.
Luisa Lamounier is a graduate student in Anglo-American Studies at University of Porto. She graduated in 2015 from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) with a BA in Literary Studies, having researched memory, trauma and metafiction in war literature. She’s a former member of the Center for the Study of War and Literature (NEGUE). She has also worked as a teacher since 2014.
Manuel Sousa Oliveira is an undergraduate student in Applied Languages at the University of Porto and will soon be pursuing his studies in the field of Anglo-American Studies. He has also recently completed a traineeship at CETAPS within the project ALIMENTOPIA – Utopian Foodways. His particular research interests include American Literature, Utopian Studies and Queer Theory.
Maria de Araújo has a Bachelor of Arts in Languages, Literatures and Cultures from University of Porto. She is currently pursuing a MA in Anglo-American Studies at the same institution. She is interested in the modernist articulation of mental and urbanscape wanderings and of biblical, classical and native myth. Bewitched by the woolf’s howl.
Miguel Ohnesorge is a History and Philosophy student at Kassel University and the University of Porto. He was working as a student assistant at the Chair of Global History and the Institute of Philosophy in Kassel. His research focusses on the colonial history of South Asia, the history and philosophy of science, and the global history of political ideas. He is a fellow of the German scholarship foundation and contributor to the Berlin Global Histories Journal and the “History of Knowledge” blog of the German Historical Institute Washington.
Rita Costa Marinho is a graduate student attending a MA in Anglo-American studies at the Faculty of Arts, in University of Porto. She studied Cinema before getting her BA in Languages, Literatures and Cultures, with a major in English, from the same institution. She has attended University College Dublin as an Erasmus student, and has also been an English monitor at the Universidade Júnior project, in University of Porto. Her main areas of interest are Irish Studies, Queer theory and Gender studies, 19th and 20th Century English and American Literature and Culture, Pop Culture, Cinema and Photography.
Tânia Almeida is a graduate student in Anglo-American Studies at University of Porto. She holds a BA in Languages, Literatures and Cultures with a major in English from the same institution. She has a wide range of interests within literature and the visual arts.
My name is Beatriz de Almeida Santos, I’m 22 years old and I live in Lisbon, Portugal. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Campinas (Brazil) in 2011 and I have an MA in Anglo-American Studies with a dissertation entitled Between Terror and Sublime: The Female Characters in “Berenice”, “Morella” and “Ligeia”. I am currently a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto. My main interests are Edgar Allan Poe’s works, Gothic and Terror Literature, and Digital Humanities. My PhD thesis’s main focus is the creation of a (digital) cartography of Edgar Allan Poe’s terror. I was awarded a Grant by Associação Luso-Britânica (ALB) to work as a Junior Researcher in Anglo-American Studies at CETAPS.

Hello! My name is João Santos and I am a PhD student from the faculty of arts from the University of Porto. I wrote my Master’s Dissertation on Harry Potter (magic, religion and science) and I am studying the series on a deeper level for my PhD. My more general interests are 20th and 21st century English culture and literature with a main focus on Fantasy Literature being that Harry Potter is my main research object. My name is Viviane Fontoura. I am Brazilian and a student at DELCI (Department of Literary, Cultural and Interartistic Studies) at FLUP (Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto). I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communication from the Federal University of Pernambuco, Brazil, specialization degrees in Applied Linguistics and English Literature from the Frassinetti Faculty of Recife, and a MA in English Literature from the University of Westminster, UK. My dissertation was on trauma, memory and identity in contemporary Northern Irish literature.
For my doctorate, I am still investigating literature produced in Northern Ireland. This time, however, my research is focused on the poetry of Ciáran Carson and Sinéad Morrissey, especially the representation of the city of Belfast in their works. My aim is to relate aspects of spatiality, memory and national identity and gender, and how the two writers’ literary corpus relate to each other.
My literary interests are very wide, but I have a special place in my heart for William Shakespeare, the romantic poetry of Keats, Byron and Shelley, and women’s literature as a whole (my favourite writers are Emily Brontë, Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf, Sylvia Plath and Clarice Lispector).
