The JRAAS team is pleased to announce the 2nd JRAAS Anglo-American Studies Meeting, which aims to give students the opportunity to present papers on subjects connected to Anglo-American studies, as a way to promote their active involvement in the academia.
In the last decades, Anglo-American Studies have been promoting an interdisciplinary approach, aiming to establish a dialogue between several research areas. Following the same guidelines, our Get-Together intends to welcome multiple perspectives on varied fields, which the audience will be invited to link, so as to essay potential connections. Consequently, the implications of the individual voices will merge together to form a wider discourse. These voices belong to students, since this event focuses on their critical output. Therefore, the knowledge produced in the classrooms will not be confined to them, and the academic debate will be fertilized with new points of view.
The 2nd JRAAS Anglo-American Studies Meeting will take place in the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto, Portugal, on the 15th of May 2018. We are now opening our call for papers in a range of subjects in Anglo-American studies.
We look forward to receiving paper proposals in the academic areas which are currently the main focus of Anglo-American Studies, including (but not restricted to): Literary Studies, Sociology, History, Cultural Studies, Post-colonial Studies, Performance, Film studies, Theatre and Performance studies, Gender and Sexuality studies, Translation studies, Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Language teaching and Methodology, Multilingualism.?
The proposals, which ought to have a maximum of 250 words, should be structured for a 15-minutes presentation (in Portuguese or English). You should also include a short bionote (150 words at max.).
Send your proposal in a word document to firstname.lastname@example.org until the 31st of March 2018. Results will be sent to you until the 15th of April 2018.
